This new branch of Fairyland is a happy accident that emerged during the 2020 pandemic. After closing the Fairy Gates in March, for the first time in 70 years, Fairyland had to discover a new way to support families with the same magic they encounter while at the park.

This accident turned into an opportunity, when the park partnered with Bay Area-born filmmakers Rafael Casal and Daveed Diggs to widen the Fairy Gates and push the magic of Fairyland beyond the borders of the park. The partnership is committed to keeping the park open for future generations — so Bay Area kids will always have a safe and inclusive space to play, learn, and to cultivate their imagination.  The digital branch of Fairyland, hosts an array of rich, diverse stories, read and performed by people deeply rooted in the Bay Area.
